How To Boot Into Recovery on One UI 4 /4.1
- First, you need to hold the power button and then select power off when the power menu pops up.
- After the device is completely turned off, plug in a USB-C cable connected to your PC.
- Alternatively, you can even plug in USB-C earphones into your phone.
- if you have a Bixby button such as the devices like galaxy S10 and Note 10. Then Press Volume up+ Bixby Button + Power button for a few seconds.
- If your device doesn’t have a Bixby button like the Galaxy S21 and the Note 20. Then press the Volume up + Power button for a few seconds.
- After a while, you should be in the recovery mode of the phone.
Why did Samsung Do this?
Well, the very obvious reason for Samsung to change the method of booting into recovery is that. If your phone is by chance stolen or is left somewhere at the cafe, then someone can immediately wipe your phone by booting into the recovery. Even if your phone is locked by implementing the above-mentioned method of booting into recovery. Samsung just stepped up with its security system of the phone.
Also, the other reason would be that Samsung phones have a built-in hardware chip called Knox security. Which protects your data. So if you boot into recovery you can unlock the bootloader and root your phone or try to install custom ROMS, which will trip the Samsung’s Knox security system, and your phone will be vulnerable to attacks and the security would be compromised. Also if the Knox is tripped once, you cannot undo it, further, you will lose Samusng’s few functionalities like Samsung Pay, Samsung pass, Secure folder access and more.
